Description de Sapiens Imperium

Sapiens Imperium is a science fiction graphic novel set in a universe where humanity has conquered space and is in power of the Sapiens Empire ruled by the Thesol family. The Khelek, rivals of the Thesol, have been deported to a frozen moon and are forced to work in caves under the surface. Baltar, a prince and descendant of the Khelek, tries to quell the brewing rebellion among his people. The Lektars, an indigenous alien species, serve as intermediaries between the humans and Malathon, a cruel commander who has been projected into a metalnaut body. The story is an ambitious and original epic that creates an extensive and coherent universe to make it work.

Critique de Sapiens Imperium

While Sapiens Imperium has an evident ambition and originality in its storytelling, it falls short of expectations. The geopolitical and martial plot is relatively formulaic, and although the universe is coherent, it lacks depth. The characters are stereotypical and are not developed enough for readers to genuinely attach to them. However, the illustrator, Jorge Miguel, delivers breathtaking artwork and gives the story the required scope to make it an epic saga. Sapiens Imperium remains a decent entertainment option for sci-fi fans but nothing exceptional.
