Description de Mako
Mako and Ultra, two former agents of the DGSE, are recruited by a secret organization to retrieve an object. Ultra betrays Mako and sends him to prison. Upon his release, Mako helps his cellmate's sister pull off a heist. This first volume of Mako is a muscular B-movie action thriller with twists and caustic remarks. Boris Beuzelin's drawings are elegant despite some irregularities.Critique de Mako
The first volume of Mako sets the tone as a muscular B-movie action thriller, complete with all the necessary implausibilities, as long as the spectacle is present. In fact, the adventure begins directly in pure action-packed style, regardless of the hero's past - he seems to be a former DGSE agent, and that is all we get to know. As for twists, fans of the genre will not be disappointed: there are plot twists, betrayals, shootings, explosions, dives, fights underwater… Some caustic remarks also bring their contribution to the story. In the art department, Boris Beuzelin's semi-realistic, elegant style, somewhat reminiscent of Philippe Berthet's and Brüno's , is employed again. His deep inkings are powerful, although there are some irregularities that might be noticed. The detail of the action plan on page 12, from schematic pictograms, is also an excellent idea.8Note générale
