Description de Le local
Giuliano's father lends him a hangar for an indefinite period of time where he rehearses with his musician friends. The group is composed of Stefano, an extravagant young boy whose father is a sculptor, Alberto, the bassist who is very close to his father and a fan of model making, and Alex, the drummer fascinated by the aesthetics of Adolf Hitler. Rehearsals take place daily until an amplifier fails and Alex finds a new one in a room adjacent to the war memorial in Africa. Despite their differences, the group begins to make progress and become cohesive, but their individual backgrounds and interests threaten to tear them apart.Critique de Le local
Le Local is a visually stunning graphic novel with its atypical and poetic drawing style featuring fine lines and watercolor colors that enhance the reading experience. The author, Gipi, develops intriguing and complex characters with great skill, seeking to reveal the motivations that drive them. While not his best work, Le Local is still a compelling read and showcases a talented artist. Gallimard made a wise decision in bringing this graphic novel to a French audience. Through the intimate and candid portrayal of its characters, Le Local offers a commentary on the struggles of creative individuals in an increasingly homogeneous world, where passion and expression are often overshadowed by conformity and commercialism. The underlying message of the graphic novel is that true artistic expression requires authenticity, individuality and a willingness to overcome obstacles. Le Local is not only an entertaining graphic novel but also a thought-provoking work that will resonate with readers.9Note générale
