Description de The Last Days Of American Crime T2

The countdown has begun for Graham and his companions: only 7 days left before the IPA comes into effect. Graham, who works as a security guard in the federal bank they plan to hack, pretends to have a pressing need to use Mr. Hyo's office while he's away. He connects the USB key, as Shelby instructed him, and the file is quickly downloaded. But when he finishes and leaves the room, Graham is surprised by his supervisor who wonders why he's there. The security guard had anticipated this possibility. He announces his intention to denounce the strong taste for alcohol of one of his colleagues. Once his job is done, he goes to Shelby's house and gives her the file. She, who had warmed him up at Collins', still intends to take advantage of Graham's abilities, despite another partner in the heist, Kevin, who is her boyfriend. Fortunately, the latter is not around, but he still hides his game well. For Graham, however, the next step is not really as pleasant: Enrique has managed to escape and is preparing to make him go through the same torture session...

Critique de The Last Days Of American Crime T2

Rick Remender is an amazing author. After starting out as an artist, it is under the hat of a screenwriter that he has managed to make a name for himself. After the success of Fear Agent and before that of Punisher, Remender tried his hand at a new genre for him: the detective story. He was right to do so as his series The Last Days of American Crime respects all the codes of the genre, in addition to offering an original context: the US government's attempt to eliminate crime by removing cash. A little bit of humor, violence, torrid atmosphere and cutting-edge dialogue are present for a heist unlike any other. The twists and turns are well thought out and we almost get to the end of this second volume too quickly. Working in the established genre of black detective stories, The Last Days of American Crime also offers a cast of colorful characters. In the confirming category as well, Greg Tocchini has considerably progressed since his early days. When given the ability to fully blossom, it produces incredible panels from which the heat literally transpires. His direct coloring is impeccable and brings an atypical cachet to this comics. The end album bonuses reveal preparatory drawings by Tocchini, but also by Alex Maleev who ensures the covers with the success we know him for. After an excellent start, The Last Days of American Crime confirms the hopes seen. It is with real impatience that we are now eager to read the conclusion of this masterful detective story...
