Description de Saga T2

Alana, Marko and their baby Hazel have managed to escape from the planet of Cleave with the help of their ghost friend Izabel. Together, they have boarded a spaceship but after a few minutes, two strangers enter the ship. They are Marko's parents who immediately expel Izabel, believing her to be a danger, towards the nearest planet. For a first meeting with her in-laws, Alana couldn't have hoped for worse. Marko is angry and decides to go after his spectral friend, his mother follows him. Alana is left alone with the baby and Barr, her father-in-law. Surprisingly, both of them find common ground easily, even though in order to achieve that, Marko's father has to admit to the young mother that he only has one month left to live. Meanwhile, The Will teams up with Gwendolyn, a messenger from the Crown High Command. With her help, he might be able to free the young girl from the prostitution network of Mama Sun, but also find the missing couple Marko and Alana. Moreover, Gwendolyn is Marko's ex-girlfriend...

Critique de Saga T2

Brian K. Vaughan made a spectacular comeback after a few years of absence in the world of comics. Having left to produce or write for television, the author came back to our attention with Saga, a series of epic proportions where we follow a couple made up of two different species whose people have been at war for a long time. This Romeo and Juliet story with a space opera twist is based on a fast-paced rhythm and an incredible quality of writing. This is confirmed in the second volume, where Alana and Marko's in-laws show up. Awkward situations, tensions, and revelations will not be spared. If, on top of that, Brian K. Vaughan adds the ex-girlfriend of Marko to the cast, the story will not lack spice! The story puts the protagonists in even more perilous situations. The reader might be surprised by the inventiveness of the extraterrestrial species. Some scenes are even huge, like the planet that is actually a giant egg about to hatch! And then there are the twists that are always brought in at the right moment, as well as the storytelling and dialogue. Vaughan has truly reinvigorated himself during his break from comics and comes back to us inspired like never before. He benefits from the visual fantasy of a Fiona Staples, whose drawings cannot leave one indifferent. The work provided by the artist is of an unexpected aesthetic and rare originality. In summary, Saga is an emotional and epic action-packed story, and we hope it will continue for a long time. A must-read!
