Description de A history of violence
A History of Violence is a comic book written by John Wagner and illustrated by Vince Locke. The story follows Tom McKenna, a peaceful shopkeeper in the small town of Raven's Bend, who kills a junkie during an attack at his bar. The incident brings media attention and also attracts the interest of a local mafia who claims that McKenna is actually Joey, a former member of their organization. The well-crafted plot builds up tension gradually until an unbearable climax. The black-and-white illustrations by Vince Locke are perfectly suited for the dark and violent atmosphere of the story.Critique de A history of violence
A History of Violence is an outstanding comic book, yet its gratuitous violence may not appeal to everyone. The artwork by Vince Locke is impressive, but the extreme violence depicted throughout the book can be nauseating for some readers. Moreover, the complex and non-linear narrative structure might make it difficult to follow the storyline in certain parts of the book. In conclusion, A History of Violence is highly recommended for fans of dark and violent mafia comics, but it may not be an ideal choice for those who are sensitive to graphic violence.13Note générale
