Description de En Italie, il n'y a que des vrais hommes
Nico and Rocco, two journalists, meet Antonio Angelicola, also known as Ninella, for a report about the Tremiti archipelago. As he recounts his painful past, he reveals that he was sent to the island as a homosexual, according to Mussolini's assertion. The book, excessively well-documented, explores this repugnant period of Italian history and the life of an unusual community. The elegant drawing, enhanced by a soft bichromy, reinforces the emotional impact of the story.Critique de En Italie, il n'y a que des vrais hommes
The album allows us to become aware of a little-known aspect of Italian history. By using a testimony and choosing a narrative made of back and forth, the book goes beyond a simple historical testimony to ask the question of the gaze of the other and the place of homosexuality in our societies. The narrative, sensitive and undoubtedly necessary, is reinforced by an elegant drawing and a soft bichromy, which add to the emotion of the story. The choice of storytelling creates an implicit invitation to put oneself in the shoes of the persecuted, and to draw parallels with the way that other minorities are treated today.9Note générale
